What team do you play for/Support U of A Women's Rugby, Tucson Lightning, Old Pueblo Lions and Seattle teams.
About Me I love rugby! Last season I was the match secretary for the University of Arizona. Now I play for the Tucson Lightning.

I'm back to being a lovely brunette and have hazel green eyes, which I believe to be my best feature.

My friends/teammates are very important. They're like family. I'm very shy at first unless I've had a bit to drink, then my true personality comes shining through.

I'm a punk rock girl at heart, but you would never know it by looking at me. I think skaters are hot and I love people who love to snowboard and/or surf. Oh yeah, ruggers are uberhot as well!

I'm very ambitious and hardly ever take no for an answer, I guess that would make me stubborn too. I'm always right until proven wrong. I very rarely argue about things I know nothing about.

I'm a fantastic person to drink with and I know how to have a good time, maybe that's why I started playing rugby. It doesn't matter if I'm out with friends or chillin in with them. I love music.
Music There's too many to name them all and I'm eclectic in what I like, but Teenage Bottle Rocket, Homeless Wonders, Blondie, The Cure, Mazzy Starr, David Gray (when it's early), Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Sublime, Blink 182, Social Distortion, MXPX, old skool Black Eyed Peas, 50 Cent, Paul Oakenfold, and Fatihless, to name a few.
Movies First movies to come to mind.....Breakfast Club, Napoleon Dynamite, Bend It Like Beckham, Crazy/Beautiful, Best In Show, Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas, The Secretary- when one feels a bit naughty, Mean Girls, The Exorcist, Dazed and Confused....
TV House, LA Ink, Cold Case, The Hills, The Girls Next Door, and rugby when it's on....
Books Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas, The Alchemist, Ectasy Club, 300 Beats Per Minute, How to Have Sex Like A Porn Star, anything by Patricia Cornwell or James Patterson. Actually, anything that I find remotely interesting. I'm open to suggestions.
Likes Rugby...of course, going to the Twist after practice or touch (depending on the time of year) to watch rugby, eat chicken wings, drink beer and bullshit. Hanging out with the O.P. boys and going to crazy themed parties thrown by my rugby girls. In general having a good time.
Dislikes Anyone who wears boardshorts and is not going anywhere near water, those that wear boardshorts with tennis shoes--for god's sake put on some damn sandals or flip flops. Those who wear hats in the gym. Seriously it doesn't look cool and if you've got a bald spot, no one is really gonna care. Shorts over baggy pants, not cool and who ever thinks it is cool is on serious drugs. Make a decision, either pants or shorts. It's not like you can take the pants off and wear the shorts if you get hot. People who request you as a friend just so they can have lots of "friends".
Hobbies Rugby!!!!!! Surfing, snowboarding, skating- although I prefer to cruise along on my long board, reading- anything that's interesting, and generally acting crazy with my rugby girls. Traveling has become one of my favorite hobbies. I need to learn how to do it more cost efficiently.
Vices Don't think I have any...I'll have to ask around.
Virtues I have them, I know I do, but I just can't think of any.
    Heroes hmmmm....

    U of A Women's Rugby

Tuesday, June 10, 2008, 05:11 PM MST [General]

In the off chance any of you may be attending the University of Arizona in Tucson Arizona this up coming school year, the women's rugby team would love to have you come out and join. Practices start the first week of school usually at 6 on Tue and Thur, but sometimes we practice as early as 4 or 4:30 (but that rarely happens). So if you're interested or know anyone that's coming to this great school, email me. Oh, if for some silly reason I get spam or any other emails I would otherwise not appreciate, I will be very angry. =)

    What can I say?

Saturday, March 8, 2008, 07:29 PM MST [General]

Last weekend, well last Saturday was the most amazing day ever! We played the Las Vegas Slots at home. That in and of itself was exciting. This was the first time ever, well first time since maybe my very first game, where I was nervous right up until start time. I had trouble sleeping Friday night I was so nervous. This is unusual for me.

I forgot my mouth guard at home and luckily realized it right before we started warming up...flew home got my mouth guard...blah blah blah.

Second half of the match, we're doing well...winning in fact. It's two minutes in, there's a ruck right in front of me and the ball. I pick and go, like I usually do and I'm off! I see a winger to my right and just to the left of her is their outside center...crap! I head toward the winger draw in the outside center and then juke back to the left. I'm running, sprinting! I've got the ball tucked. I hear "I'm with you Q!" I look quickly to my left but don't see anyone. I feel someone very close to me, but I see the tryline up ahead as well. I'm sprinting and next thing I know there is the tryline!!! and all I can think is if I get tackled please, please, please tackle me forward so I can score.

I scored!!!!! my very first try ever!!!! and I didn't get tackled. What made this amazing for me, although everyone's first try is pretty amazing, is that ME, this chubby loose head prop picked the ball at middish field and sprinted all the way through with this giant woman on my butt the entire time.

THis was the most amazing thing that had happened to me so far in a rugby match. I sort of sat and placed the ball over the tryline, turned over on my back and couldn't believe what had happened. I'd seen that tryline sooooo many times before and was always taken down, but this time I made it!!!! When I got up my entire team was speechless for a minute and then everyone was there congratulating me. YAAAAAAYYY for me!!!

Needless to say I had a hard time napping after the social because I was completely amazed at what I'd accomplished. While this may not be a big deal for many people it was very much a big deal for me.

    Thought I'd share.

Oh yeah, I shot the boot and to my amazement cold beer out of a boot isn't sooooo bad and I'm getting better at chugging.

    Oy!

Tuesday, August 28, 2007, 10:03 PM MST [General]

School started last Monday. 12 credits, two jobs and rugby practice has made me a very dull person. I have no life outside of work, school and rugby and would go absolutely crazy if I hadn't played touch all summer and then went directly from touch to playing with my girls.

I'm playing for the Tucson women's team now, which is sort of a change. I was really worried at the end of last season about playing for them because there were individuals on the team who didn't care. They messed around at practice or didn't come and then they'd mess around on the pitch during matches. Needless to say those people have not come back and I'm somewhat elated by that fact. I feel bad, though, that I'm not able to fully committ to this fall season. LAME! I'll make it up in the spring.

Anyone headed to High Desert in Albuquerque in Oct or Wild West Rugby Fest in Scottsdale in Dec?

    Florida here we come

Tuesday, April 17, 2007, 02:17 PM MST [General]

So it's hitting me that we leave on Thur for Fl. I'm nervous. Yep I said it. I don't often get nervous before a match. it's usually first match in the beginning of the fall and spring that make me feel like this. I'm not sure if I'm nervous about actually playing or everything I have to get done before we leave. Oy! I just had to vent...in a sense about it. Whoooop!!!!
